As Academician David Gurgenidze noted, signing the Memorandum of Cooperation was made by the parties taking into account the requirements of the country economy, the promotion of the interaction between the labor market and the education system, the development of higher and vocational education, as well as the formation of effective partnership relations between the university and the business sector.

According to the rector, the establishment of a solid partnership between the Georgian Technical University and “NC Group 2022” allows the parties to jointly take care of the training of young, competitive professionals and their future employment.

“The cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and “NC Group 2022” will be another excellent example of how effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the university and the business sector can be established. The signed document envisages full involvement from the university - students, researchers, and professors from almost all faculties will be involved in the planning and implementation of large-scale energy projects underway in the country. The project envisages the construction of cascade hydropower plants in four municipalities of the Shida Kartli region. It is of utmost importance that our students will be allowed to use the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired at the university in the implementation of the type of energy and construction project that has multifaceted and complex challenges to overcome in the construction direction, has multi-component tasks to be solved from an architectural or geological perspective, has recreational and tourist zones to be planned, will require the use of information technologies and relevant specialists, students and researchers from the faculties of sustainable mountain development, as well as agricultural sciences and biosystems engineering and business technologies will be involved in the project. In addition, the project also requires legislative support, in which young people from the faculties of law and international relations will participate, etc.

It should be noted that the project, in terms of employment, is also attractive for our students in many ways. In the first stage, 350 students will start their work in the company with internships, and then, young people, depending on their talents and demonstrated skills, will be allowed to become full members of the project implementation team. This memorandum will be a solid guarantee that in the future, we will add several experienced young specialists to the country, who will have guaranteed long-term employment prospects. I wish our young people, their teachers, and the company success in achieving their goals,” said the rector, academician David Gurgenidze.

The director of “NC Group 2022” thanked the university rector and administration for supporting the initiative. According to Gocha Museliani, the smooth operation of the company largely depends on the high qualifications of the staff. “NC Group 2022” plans to implement the project with local forces, therefore, close cooperation with the Georgian Technical University is particularly valuable for the company in attracting young specialists who are educated according to European standards.

As he noted, within the project framework, undergraduate and graduate students from various faculties will undergo paid internships, after which outstanding young people will be employed with long-term prospects.
