In 2024, for the first time in recent years, the largest re-equipment of the university printing house is underway at the Georgian Technical University.

The systematic modernization of the university printing house exceeds all projects implemented in the printing house so far.

As the head of the printing house, Giorgi Jerenashvili states, over the 65 years of its existence, the university printing house has been reproducing educational and methodological literature approved and registered by the Editorial Publishing Council of the Georgian Technical University, prepared by academic and support staff, as well as other authors, collections of scientific periodicals, monographs, collections of reports and theses of scientific conferences and symposiums, reference literature, dictionaries, and documents related to the educational activities of the university.

“A Japanese-made digital color printing machine - Roco-Heidelberg Versafire Pro C5300SL, a digital black-and-white printing machine - Roco-Heidelberg Versafire Pro 8300S, a HORIZON BQ-270 thermal binder, a German-made POLAR Mohr - 92 EM paper cutter - these are the machines that the university printing house purchased at the initiative, with the direct involvement and support of the rector, academician David Gurgenidze. Such a large-scale re-equipment took place for the first time in the history of our printing house.”

In 2006, the Georgian Technical University publishing and printing house were combined into a single structure called the “Technical University” publishing house. The plans were grand, but unfortunately, due to lack of funds, they could not be implemented.

There were numerous resolutions of both the Academic Council and the Senate on the re-equipment of the printing house, but due to a lack of funds, they could not be implemented. This year, with the great efforts of the rector and chancellor, a significant renovation was carried out, which will contribute to the publication of much higher quality educational and scientific literature and reference materials.

The University Printing House can already produce high-quality color-printed products, the cost of which is low and makes us competitive in the Georgian market. We also can bind any publication flawlessly and at a high level using the newly purchased printing press. I can boldly declare that our 65-year experience is different and outstanding,” this is how Giorgi Jerenashvili assesses the updating and re-equipment of the University Printing House.

For information, the Georgian Technical University Printing House has published more than 5,000 titles of educational and scientific literature since its establishment.
