The rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, based on the decision of the Academic Council, awarded the Candidate of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, the chief scientist-collaborator of the GTU Niko Muskhelishvili Institute of Computational Mathematics, Marina Menteshashvili and the Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Sciences of the same institute, the head of the probabilistic-statistical methods department, Professor Vazha Tarieladze, for special merits rendered to the university, and presented honorary diplomas.
As the rector mentioned in his speech, Marina Menteshashvili and Vazha Tarieladze raised many worthy generations and made a great contribution to the successful activities of the Georgian Technical University.
“Ilia Chavchavadze said: “History is filled with the examples of great men and famous heroes, the nation grows, and great deeds prepare the heart for action, encourage. A nation should be guided by the lives and examples of its heroes if it wants to be a nation, and that’s how a people becomes a nation”, - this is the cornerstone of the work of each of us, scientists and researchers of the Georgian Technical University. We must teach future generations to value decent science and set an example.
That is why the university academic council makes decisions to honor outstanding people.
Considering the merits of Marina Menteshashvili and Vazha Tarieladze to the university and the country, the academic council decided to award honorary diplomas of the university to meritorious pedagogues and scientists. On behalf of the university community, I congratulate Mrs. Marina and Mr. Vazha and wish them success,” said David Gurgenidze.
