The Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development of GTU Hosted Students and Teachers of Akhalsheni Public School
The Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development of the Georgian Technical University held an informational meeting with students and teachers of the high mountain village of Akhalsheni public school in Tsalka municipality.

The event was held within the framework of the project – “Junior Scientists of the Scientific and Research Club for the Sustainable Mountain Development” financed by the Shota Rustaveli Foundation.

During the visit, the guests visited the administrative and other educational buildings, including the Central Library, electrical engineering, mineralogy, and paleontology museums. Students also met professors and administrative staff of the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development.

The dean and professors of the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development introduced the history of the faculty to the students and teachers of the Akhalsheni public school. The head of the faculty, Professor Noe Khozrevanidze, presented to the pupils of the school – “Goals of sustainable development”, and the successful student Mariam Bakradze spoke about the importance of the Sustainable Mountain Development and the ongoing teaching-learning process at the faculty.

For information, the new Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development in the university space was founded on December 11th, 2021, on the International Mountain Day, and today, more than 300 students acquire knowledge on four priority bachelor’s educational programs fully funded by the state.
