According to the rector of the Georgian Technical University, the university has been fruitfully cooperating with the International Hegel Society for many years.

At the Georgian Technical University, from September 30th to October 4th, there was a celebration of science. We hosted the 35th International Hegel Congress, which is held every two years in different countries under the auspices of the International Hegel Society. This year Hegel’s International Congress is a jubilee and dedicated to the 70th anniversary of its foundation.

Georgia is the first state where, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and gaining independence, the aforementioned high-ranking world scientific forum is held, and the Georgian Technical University is the first host of the forum in Georgia. The Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University decided to award the title of honorary doctorate of the Georgian Technical University to the President of the International Hegel Society, Professor Miriam Gerhard, and the Honorary President of the International Hegel Society, Professor Andreas Arndt of the Berlin Humboldt University. I have the honor to congratulate our colleagues and friends on this honorary title and wish them success”, said David Gurgenidze.

The President of the International Hegel Society, Professor Miriam Gerhard, and the Honorary President of the International Hegel Society, Professor Andreas Arndt of the Berlin Humboldt University, thanked the Rector and the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University.

For information, the 35th Hegel International Jubilee Congress, with the theme – “The Idea of Goodness and Morality in Hegel’s Philosophy”, which is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of this prestigious scientific forum, is being held in Georgia for the first time in the post-Soviet space, and it is being hosted by the Georgian Technical University from September 30th to October 4th.

The financial supporters of the high-ranking scientific event are the International Hegel Society, various European and American scientific foundations, and the Government of Georgia. Due to the importance of Hegel’s philosophy and the history of its reception, under the auspices of the International Hegel Society, the congress is held every two years, and in it, world-renowned scientists and researchers participate.
