“An interesting meeting with an interesting topic. Most importantly, young people, our students, and future professionals in their field had the opportunity to get acquainted with the news and, at the same time, to form a specific concept in the direction of the development of financial products and services. To ask qualified questions and get comprehensive answers”, - Rector of the Georgian Technical University Academician David Gurgenidze discussed this after meeting with students and representatives of “Foresight Investment Group”.
The rector of the Georgian Technical University, academician David Gurgenidze, vice-rectors Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, president of the supervisory board Lavrenti Gudavadze, deans of faculties and students met with representatives of Foresight Investment Group.
The rector opened the introductory meeting. As David Gurgenidze mentioned in his speech, capital market development, reforms, and innovations are among the main conditions for the sustainable development of Georgia.
“Diversifying capital sources and reducing dependence on the banking sector is an important issue that concerns any member of society and requires caution and risk calculation. The representatives of “Foresight Investment Group” introduced us to the product they have been creating for four years and which has been tested in European and American countries.
This, I would say, is the art of asset management. It is known that today, asset management companies mainly manage the portfolio of investment funds. For example, it is common for pension fund assets to be handled by an asset management company. The advantage of an asset management company is its expertise and knowledge of investment activities.
Accordingly, the owners of some financial resources prefer to pay a certain amount for services, entrust the management of assets to experienced companies and make investments that their clients would not be able to do individually. This is new for Georgia. It was the topic the representatives of “Foresight” met with the students. I think that the meeting was held in a very interesting format”, noted David Gurgenidze.
The senior investment officer of “Foresight Group” Rati Morchiladze introduced the history of the organization and the action plan to the audience and answered the questions.
