The Georgian Technical University will hold grand cultural events for students in the new 2024/2025 academic year.

With the initiative and support of the rector, Academician Davit Gurgenidze, the GTU Department of the Student Services, Culture and Sports offers students to join creative collectives and participate in university Olympiads throughout the academic year. 

As Badri Lebanidze, head of the GTU culture department of the Student Services, Culture and Sports, explains, in the new academic year, the student Olympiad will be held at all thirteen faculties of the university, and creative collectives will present folklore and classical repertoire to foreign scientists participating in international conferences.

According to Badri Lebanidze, the new academic year will be significant for the creative collectives of GTU and interesting for the audience. 

“The years 2024-25 are distinguished by the abundance of anniversary dates. This year, our famous choreographic ensemble “Merani” turns 90 years old, GTU Men’s Public Capella celebrates its 60th anniversary, and in 2025, GTU theater studio “Modinakhe” will be 80 years old.

The culture department team, with the support and cooperation of the rector and administration of our university, is already starting work to celebrate these great dates in a dignified manner. This year, interesting events are waiting for our students and GTU fans”, - says Badri Lebanidze. 

For information - in the 2024/25 academic year, the Georgian Technical University will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Public Theater-Studio “Modinakhe” with a grand event, and a grand concert will be dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the “Merani” Ensemble and the 60th anniversary of the Men’s Capella.
