The GTU Faculty of Business Technologies Starts the New Academic Year with an International Conference
The Faculty of Business Technologies of Georgian Technical University starts the new academic year with an international student conference – “Peace and Sustainable Mountain Tourism Challenges and Opportunities”.

Students and academic staff of GTU’s Business Technologies and Mountain Sustainable Development Faculties, as well as Georgian National University (SEU) and Gori State University, will attend the international conference. 

Scientists from leading universities of several European countries will attend the conference. 

According to Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business Technologies of GTU - Rusudan Kutateladze, the international conference allows students to demonstrate their skills. 

Supporters of the conference are United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism); Mountain Partnership (MOUNTAIN PARTNERSHIP, FAO); Grassroots Institute - THE GRASSROOTS INSTITUTE (Canada); Japan International Cooperation Agency - Georgia Office (JICA, Japan); National Tourism Administration; Protected Areas Agency; Resorts Development Agency; National Environment Agency; University of Milan (Italy); Hotel Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers; Travel company “Magic Roads”; Ecocenter for Environmental Protection (UN ECOSOC consultative status organization); International Association of Mountainous Regions of the Caucasus; Regional Center for Consulting and New Professions; Techinform Institute of GTU. 

“In the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as in previous years, the admission quota for various educational programs of the Faculty of Business Technologies was filled. In particular, 250 entrants were enrolled in the bachelor’s academic programs, 110 in the master’s program, and 20 in the doctoral program.

The Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University has a high rating and is one of the most demanded in the educational space of the country. Educational programs of all three levels are implemented, focused on the proven teaching methodology implementation in the world’s leading universities and scientific research, and provide theoretical and practical skills for professional qualification. The main goal of the faculty is to train/retrain specialists who are competitive in the international labor market having the competence corresponding to modern requirements.

International conferences, workshops, and trainings are held at the Faculty of Business Technologies. International and internal faculty projects were implemented with the participation of professors and students; it has become a tradition to hold public lectures by foreign professors; many monographs, textbooks, and auxiliary manuals have been published by faculty professors; they participate in local/international conferences in Georgia and abroad, give lectures in higher education institutions of the EU countries, are academicians of various field academies, members of the New York Academy, members of the editorial board of a magazine with international impact-factor indexing, trainers, accreditation experts, holders of the Order of Honor, former members of the Parliament; the faculty has signed contracts with various governmental and non-governmental organizations, where students undergo internships and practice; doctoral students of the faculty have won the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation grant for doctoral educational programs many times. 

Our students are actively involved in ERASMUS+ exchange programs, about 50 students and professors have been in different higher education institutions abroad, more than 60 students are state scholarship recipients, and about 50 students have received state grants. The faculty students actively participate and are Georgian/European champions in various sports, and members of the youth team.

The success of our faculty is related to the initiative of the rector of the Georgian Technical University to create an educational space of European standard for students. I would like to thank academician Davit Gurgenidze for his support”, says Rusudan Kutateladze. 
  
For information, three scholarships named after Niko Nikoladze, Akaki Khoshtaria, and Davit Sarajishvili have been established for bachelor’s educational program students at the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University. The faculty, along with other faculties, is actively involved in the innovative development process of the country.
