“China is one of the main players in the science-intensive economy of the world market. It is the model that can strengthen Georgia economically if we choose the right direction and consider the situation, which is acceptable for our country.

Against this background, we will achieve results. We are proud that we were the first from Georgia to cooperate with the Chinese Academy of Engineering and thus initiated several large projects.

The Chinese Scientific Research Institute has been operating in the university for several years, which was founded by the joint efforts of the Academy of Social Sciences of the People’s Republic of China and the Georgian Technical University. It is a research-oriented academic center, the like of which has never been seen in Georgia. It is known that Tianjin University is one of the oldest, where the first air engines and unmanned aerial vehicles were developed. The Georgian Technical University has a long history.

The contribution made by university scientists to the development of world cosmonautics is invaluable. On July 23rd, 1999, with the involvement of the Institute of Space Structures of the State University of Georgia, the first Georgian space object - the reflector - went into orbit. We continue to cooperate with NASA to this day. Also, our scientific-academic staff actively cooperates with the largest international research organizations and centers, such as CERN in Switzerland, KEK and J-Parc in Japan, FERMILAB in the USA, with the Willich Center, and the DAAD organization. We have close contacts with leading universities in Germany, Italy, France, and Europe.
