Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia Andrews Kalindra was awarded the Honorary Doctorate of GTU

The rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician Davit Gurgenidze, based on the resolution of the Academic Council, awarded the Honorary Doctorate to Andrew Kalinda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia.
According to the decision of the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University, for the multifaceted cooperation with the GTU, for the personal special contribution made to deepening the ties and partnership between the educational and scientific circles of the Republic of Lithuania and the professors and students of the GTU, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia - Andrius Kalinda, Rector Davit Gurgenidze awarded the Honorary Doctorate. He was handed over a confirming diploma and a medal.
The rector thanked the Ambassador of Lithuania and spoke about the great contribution of Andrew Kalindra in deepening friendly relations between the two countries - Georgia and the Republic of Lithuania. According to Davit Gurgenidze, the Ambassador’s contribution is great not only in the successful functioning of the University Center of Lithuanian Language, Culture, and Education but also in the strengthening of educational, scientific, and cultural ties between Georgia and Lithuania.
“It should be noted that the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, His Excellency Andrews Kalindra, as the friendly country Ambassador, actively participated in the day-to-day activities of the Center and offered great support to the Georgian Technical University in the direction of internationalization.
Throughout this period, the Lithuanian Language, Culture, and Education Center has been implementing significant educational projects at the Georgian Technical University. “With the support of the center, students and professors of different levels of GTU have the opportunity to study the Lithuanian language, take advantage of mobility programs, travel to the leading universities of Lithuania, and participate in various cultural programs and events,” said Davit Gurgenidze.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia Andrews Kalindra thanked the Georgian Technical University, personally the rector Davit Gurgenidze, and noted that the cooperation between the GTU and the Embassy of Lithuania brought significant results for both countries.
“The Georgian Technical University became a leading institution in engineering and technology. “Education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world" – with these words of Nelson Mandela, I once again wish success to your university. The Georgian Technical University should always remain a leader that will lead the country to knowledge, innovation, development, and peace,” said the Ambassador of Lithuania at the ceremony.
