The Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design celebrated the farewell of the graduates
The professors and teachers of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design of the Georgian Technical University organized a farewell event for the graduates of the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral educational programs of architecture, fashion design technologies, and architectural knowledge.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, 123 Bachelors, 50 Masters, and 6 Doctoral students graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design.

The dean, Professor Nino Imnadze, and the teachers congratulated the graduates of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design.

“Dear graduates, I am addressing you on behalf of the Georgian Technical University and our faculty. We want to congratulate you on completing one of the most important stages of your life.

We are already addressing you as young colleagues, professionals, our hope, and tomorrow! At the Georgian Technical University, you have mastered such important professions on which the life of each of us and the future correct urban development of our cities and settlements depend a lot.

Your creativity, broad vision, spatial or design thinking, and ergonomic calculations determine the lightness and carefreeness of the citizens’ existence, their opportunities for rest and comfort, and often even their health. These are responsible professions, and we believe that you will remain faithful to them until the end of your life, and on your career path, you will always protect your honor, your name, and at the same time, the honor and prestige of your university. 

We believe that as you progress in your career, you will constantly deepen your knowledge and acquire new professional skills, and you will not be satisfied with what you have achieved and will try to attain more. Remember, the door of your alma mater is always open for you - your success is our joy and success. The Georgian Technical University is by your side - with teachers, you can discuss any issue and share problems, and we’ll always support you and help you
overcome challenges. Once again, I congratulate you and wish you success”, said Dean Nino Imnadze in her speech.

Vice-rector and associate professor Tamar Tsereteli congratulated the young people on the successful completion of their studies and conveyed the best wishes from the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze.

“On behalf of the rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, I have the honor to congratulate you on the successful completion of your studies and wish you good health and progress in your chosen profession. I have a great desire to introduce you to the rector’s words: “Unforgettable years of studentship, full of knowledge and selfless work, determine your future from today. I am sure that the knowledge, skills, and experience gained at the Georgian Technical University will play a decisive role in your work, help you overcome challenges, be innovative and progressive, respect democratic values, achieve success, and make a significant contribution to the development of the country. I would like you to be curious, purposeful, and open to knowledge on the way to the future, seek new knowledge, and experience, and never stop striving for perfection. Please keep in close touch with your alma mater.

The Georgian Technical University Alumni Network is a great resource you can always count on for support.

Remember, throughout your life, your university is by your side, and over the century has educated many outstanding scientists, architects, engineers-technologists, and researchers, which considers it its duty to guide you in the fulfillment of your goals, to help you implement innovative ideas, and to be proud of your success. Remember, knowledge is power, and the code that will change the world for the better is in you!” said Tamar Tsereteli.

The musical supporter of the farewell event for the graduates of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design was the university creative group – “Next Station”, whose members are students of the faculty.

For information, the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design is one of the oldest at the Georgian Technical University, that has always had an important role in bringing architectural processes closer to real life.

The history of the faculty begins in 1922, and in 1928, the first graduates were world-famous architects: Archil Kurdiani, Ketevan Sokolova-Kurdiani, Mikheil Shavishvili, Boris Gokadze, Sandro Tevzadze and Mikheil Chkhikvadze.

Among the faculty graduates at different times are a great cohort of outstanding architects who created masterpieces of Georgian architecture and whose works are widely known in Georgia and abroad. At the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design, seven educational programs are implemented at different levels of education.
