“I am proud to address you - mountaineers and geologists! Our bachelors, masters, doctors - from today, our colleagues! Congratulations on completing the training course, and I wish you good luck.
Mining geology is one of the most difficult and necessary professions for the reconstruction of the state. We have fulfilled our goal - to prepare highly competent and competitive specialists in the international labor market by modern requirements at all three levels of higher education. You have met our expectations, for which we thank you and wish you success”, noted the dean in his welcoming speech.
For information, the Faculty of Mining and Geology is already 102 years old. The faculty has three unique museums of geology-paleontology, minerals and mineralogy, and petrography, which are constantly filled with unique exhibits. The faculty has a training mining laboratory with no analogs in the South Caucasus and many European countries.
In addition, teaching and research laboratories equipped with appropriate modern equipment serve students and researchers at the faculty.
The faculty also has a mining-geological technology center, where students and researchers study modern field technological programs. Only at the Faculty of Mining and Geology is an accredited professional training program – “Explosive”, preparing personnel for mining, construction, transport, and other branches of industry.
The Faculty of Mining and Geology of GTU closely cooperates with large companies operating in the field, including “RMG Group”, which, in partnership with the university, offers various internship programs to motivated students of the faculty with the prospect of future employment, and develops a scholarship program for excellent students.
