GTU meets the next academic year with a dramatically improved international ranking

The Georgian Technical University according to one of the leading and authoritative companies in the world QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), QS World University Rankings 2025, in terms of ratings and research, was named among the world’s best universities and entered the shortlist.
Compared to last year’s data, the rating of the Georgian Technical University has increased significantly for 2025 and advanced from the „1400+“ position to the „901-950“ position.
It should be noted that according to the last edition of QS, the Georgian Technical University with the Tbilisi State University, named after Ivane Javakhishvili, is the undisputed leader in the region, both in the engineering-technological and humanitarian fields.
QS World University Rankings 2025, to identify the best universities, evaluated up to 37,000 higher educational institutions from different countries of the world, recognized 1,500 universities from 104 countries as the best and, accordingly, included them in the short list of the latest edition, including two Georgian higher education institutions - Ivane Javakhishvili State University and Georgian Technical University.
During the evaluation, QS analyzed such important indicators as university sustainability, educational programs, results of scientific and research activities, international scientific research network, academic and scientific staff, citation index, employment rate of graduates, reputation of employers, internationalization, etc.
As noted in GTU, a sharp promotion in one of the world’s leading rating systems is another success of the Georgian Technical University in the international educational and scientific space, which is the result of the daily efforts of the university’s scientific-academic staff, students and administration, dedication to work and unceasing progress towards a common goal.
