Since 2014, he has been working as the head of the Department of Food Technologies of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University. In 2002, he was awarded the Order of Merit.
In 2014, he was elected as a full member (academician) of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia. In 2019, he was elected as a full member (academician) of the Engineering Academy of Georgia. Guram Tkemaladze participated in the organization of a number of international conferences and symposiums. He was a member of official delegations many times. Since 2021, he has been working as a professor of the Agricultural Technologies Department of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University. Since 1992, he has been an academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia. In 1983-1987, he was an expert on plant protection in the USA. In 1999, he was awarded the Order of Honor for his personal contribution to the development of agricultural science in Georgia, for his fruitful scientific and pedagogical work.
He studied the bioecology of pests of fruit trees and vines in Georgia, the factors regulating their number and worked out integrated measures for their prevention. For the first time in Georgia, he determined the interdependence of harmful and beneficial insects for the agrocenosis of fruit trees using mathematical modeling and electronic computing machines, investigated the effects of pesticides on harmful and beneficial insects and developed methods of their safe use from an ecological point of view; He is the author of more than 200 scientific works, including 17 monographs and more than 10 brochures, more than 80 works have been published in international journals;
Director of the Scientific Research Center for Environmental Protection and Rural Agriculture, who has been working in the field of viticulture for years. Since 2021, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Viticulture and Oenology of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University. He is an academician of the Agricultural Academy of Georgia. He is the head of such an important project called ampelographic collection of Georgian vines. Over the years, he has been a member of various international projects, Levan Ujmajuridze is the regional coordinator of the international organization FAO.
Since 2016, he has been working as a professor at the Department of Viticulture and Oenology of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering of the Georgian Technical University. The head of the viticulture division of the National Wine Agency, a researcher who has also been actively involved in the development of training programs and international projects in the direction of viticulture since the establishment of the faculty. Davit Maghradze is a professional whose name is associated with such important projects as the cadastre of vineyards of Georgia, as well as an international three-year project in which leading researchers from Milan, Supagro, USA - Pennsylvania and Toronto University participated. It was this project that once again brought Georgia the recognition that Georgia is the homeland of vines and wine.
