The first faculty in agrarian direction in the region

Currently, about 2,000 students are studying at the faculty at all three levels of the university education. The faculty has 22 programs in agriculture. Among them, the program in forestry functions at all three levels of education, which is the only one in the region.

Programs funded by the state

Based on the interest of the state, the faculty has the following programs for development of agricultural sciences: agricultural technologies, viticulture and enology, animal husbandry, soil and water resources engineering, food technology, forestry, agronomy and agro-engineering are fully funded by the state.

Two-diploma educational programs

The faculty has three two-diploma programs. In 2019, with participation of the Georgian Technical University and French University René-1 (Universite de RENNES 1), a double-diploma bachelor's program (production management in the dairy industry) was implemented. Within the frameworks of the above-mentioned program the Georgian Technical University participates in the program of Georgian-French universities. The program includes 60 credit modules and lectures are delivered in English language. Together with their French colleagues, Georgian professors and teachers conduct the educational course and the students undergo all the components of educational process as their French coevals do. After completing this module, they receive two diplomas – diploma of the French University René 1 and GTU. The faculty also has a two-diploma bachelor's program in viticulture-enology at the University of Milan. In order to obtain two diplomas a student must complete 60 credits in Italy. Knowledge of Italian language is required to participate in this program. From 2021, the Master's program of GTU - Viticulture and Winemaking became a member of the EMAVE Consortium, a similar European master's program, which includes the Universities of France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. Students of this program have a unique opportunity to get two diplomas - Georgian and French. For one year students go to any consortium member country, which gives them an opportunity to receive a European education in the field of viticulture and winemaking and to work on master's thesis.

English language educational programs

The faculty has a viticulture and enology program in English, which enables the mobility of students from foreign universities.

Chemistry-biology weekend school

The chemistry-biology weekend school functions at the faculty, the purpose of which is to popularize natural sciences and support students interested in chemistry-biology through cognitive-popular practical studies.

Infrastructure and laboratories equipped with modern equipment

The educational and scientific-research process is provided by 32 laboratories equipped with modern equipment, where the activities determined by the educational and research component are carried out.

Demand for personnel based on specialties

In order to develop agrarian field, the interest of various institutions in training of relevant personnel has increased.

High employment rate

Most of the faculty graduates are employed according to their specialty.

Qualified academic personnel

Academic staff actively participates in professional and studying/teaching trainings.

Exchange programs

Professors and teachers of the faculty actively participate in the Erasmus + exchange program, which allows them to improve their qualifications, both in the field and in terms of studying/teaching.
