In 2014, together with the creation of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering, the Department of Agricultural Technologies was formed. The department is headed by Professor Ioseb Sarjveladze.

Objectives of the department:

  1. Taking into account the requirements of the international market, preparing professional staff in the agricultural field;
  2. Participation in international educational exchange programs (Erasmus+, etc.);
  3. Production of result-oriented education and scientific research in the agricultural sector in accordance with the requirements of quality and continuous development, sustainable development within the framework of research and ethical environment in order to meet the requirements of the local and regional market;
  4. Finding effective ways to involve future employers in the training process;
  5. Continuous improvement of educational programs;
  6. Possible development of programs based on feedback between the student and the institution;
  7. Possible development of curricula based on feedback from the state, private and non-governmental sectors;

Agricultural technologies will be studied - the production of competitive, ecologically harmless products and the use of innovative technologies for the production of viticulture, fruit growing, field and greenhouse crops, forecasting the spread of harmful diseases and weeds of agricultural crops and taking measures against their action, the use of modern agricultural machines in agricultural technologies.

There are 12 training programs in the Department of Agricultural Technologies. The study programs of the first level of higher education (undergraduate) are 100% financed.

The study program of forestry works at all three levels of the study program.

The Department of Agrarian Technologies is staffed by highly qualified personnel. In particular, the employees have the highest qualifications of the relevant profile, in addition to higher educational institutions, they carry out their scientific work both in local and international scientific institutions, such as: The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia and the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia also have close cooperation with various foreign higher education institutions and scientific research centers.

Employees of the Department of Agricultural Technologies participate in international conferences and projects, as well as exchange programs within the framework of the Erasmus + program.
