Century-old history

The Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest main educational units of the Technical University of Georgia with a century-old history. The history of the faculty begins in 1928;

Educational programs that have no analogues in Georgia

Multidisciplinary educational programs focused on Georgian and European educational standards are implemented at the faculty - including programs that have no analogues in Georgia. Today, the faculty at various levels of education provides the training of personnel with the highest international level qualifications;

Priority and sponsored programs

Based on priority, most of the programs at the faculty are 100% funded by the state;

Close collaboration with industries

The faculty exclusively teaches such programs as mechanical engineering and technology; transport (road transport; railway transport); industrial engineering and technology; food products production-processing and refrigeration equipment; aviation engineering; in this and other active programs, a component of "industrial practice" is provided, which is carried out in cooperation with large and medium-sized industrial government and business organizations operating in Georgia.

DAAD's first engineering training program in post-Soviet countries

For the first time in Georgia, the teaching of "logistics" started at this faculty. The currently operating "Logistics" program was renewed a few years ago with funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and cooperation with leading German universities. It is significant that the mentioned program is the first DAAD engineering training program in the post-Soviet countries;

An exclusive program prepared in collaboration with British colleagues

The accredited program "Entrepreneurial Business Organization and Management" (Business Administration - Management) operating at the faculty is unparalleled throughout Georgia. It was prepared in collaboration with British colleagues and its content is concentrated on business sectors (transport, industry). The program is focused on training specialists with practical and transferable skills, equipped with extensive knowledge of business management;

High compatibility with international standards

Currently, the educational programs operating at the faculty have been tested against international standards and are highly compatible with Western programs. When compiling them, the international practice and experience implemented in various Western universities and colleges are taken into account;

Programs for foreign students

Along with Georgian programs, one English-language program "Mechanical Engineering" and one Russian-language program "Transport" are also implemented at the faculty. International students study at the faculty;

Exchange programs and the possibility of further studies

The faculty, in accordance with the internationalization strategy of GTU, is actively involved in the activities of the European Commission program ERASMUS + and other international programs and ensures the active participation of students and employees in the said program. Accordingly, students and graduates of the faculty have a big opportunity to continue their studies abroad and at higher levels;

Since its establishment, the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering has a number of well-known and successful graduates of different generations who worked and are still working in various fields both nationally and internationally. We are proud of our students and alumni;
