In the Department of Politics and International Relations of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Technical University of Georgia, at all three levels of education, educational and scientific work is carried out in the following directions: international relations and diplomacy, politics, geopolitics, globalization, international and regional conflicts, etc.

The Department of Politics and International Relations was established in 2006 on the basis of the departments of political science, international relations and diplomacy, history and culture of Georgia, philosophy and public relations, and today it is part of the faculty as the academic department of politics and international relations.

In 2006-2021, the department was headed by Doctor of History, Professor Igor Kveselava.

From 2021 to the present, the department is headed by Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Tamar Kiknadze.

In the academic department of politics and international relations, bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs of "international relations" are implemented. In addition, the Russian-language "international relations" bachelor's program is functioning.

Many monographs, textbooks and scientific works were published by the professors of the department. They actively participate in the public life of the country, many of them are academicians of various field academies, editors of scientific journals or members of the editorial board, domestic and international policy experts.
