The educational process at the faculty is adapted to the European educational environment. It responds to the changing demands of society, takes into account the achievements of scientific knowledge and is a subject to the inseparability of learning and research;

The Faculty has a branch of the Central Library of the Technical University with its reading room, modern literature - both printed and electronic (GTU is registered as a member of the consortium Electronic Information for Libraries and we have access to various electronic resources);
The faculty actively cooperates with the international relations service of GTU and is involved in the mobility and training projects of ERASMUS+ for academic staff and students. Public lectures are systematically given with the participation of foreign professors;
Students of the faculty are actively involved in the boys' capella, choreographic ensemble and various sports teams operating in the university, theater-studio "Modinakhe”;
With the initiative of Georgian electrochemist, academician Rafiel Agladze, in 1944, the department of electrochemical production technology was established at the faculty, where the first electrolytic metallic manganese production in Europe was carried out with the technology developed by him and under his leadership.;
Since 1922, Professor Giorgi Nikoladze, the founder of Georgian metallurgical education, worked at the faculty. On his initiative, the training of engineer-metallurgists began and the establishment of the cathedra of metallurgy of ferrous metals, which made a significant contribution to the development of the country.
