The Department is headed by Professor Murman Kublashvili
The activity of the Department of Computer Designing of Construction will be based on the principles of academic freedom, unity of teaching, learning and research, equality and transparency. The strategic development plan is based on the long-term action plan for the development of the Faculty of Construction of the Georgian Technical University.
The use of modern computer technologies for construction design has a great part in country’s development.
The department is guided by principles based on the ideals of democracy and humanism and provides the society with reliable, educated and highly qualified resources.
Steady growth of the construction industry puts completely new demands to design organizations and institutions. Demands on the quantity and quality of project documentation are increasing dramatically. The only proper way to solve this problem is the use of modern mathematical methods and computing techniques in the design process, the transition of the design process mainly to computer technology.
For processing, implementation and operation of automated design systems, it is necessary to create a completely updated base and computer programs, and to train highly qualified specialists on this base, who will work in any field of construction and information.
Objectives of the Department are:
- Provision of higher quality education to students at all levels of education (professional, bachelor's, master's, doctoral) using modern computer technologies in the field of construction engineering.
- Integration of engineering-scientific and engineering computer technological knowledge, which expands the base of computer knowledge, which in turn contributes to sustainable development of the society.
- Development and implementation of educational programs based on knowledge and practice based on modern computer technologies.
- Conducting prospective interpersonal theoretical and applied computer studies based on modern computer technologies in order to solve construction engineering problems.
- Provision of exchange programs and counseling support to raise the academic level of students. Ensuring high competitiveness on the local and international market.
- Support for maintaining an intellectual and cooperative environment, which will help to achieve high professional results of students and employees of the department;
- Provision of modern computer resources for teaching students (accessibility of modern laboratories and literature);
