Local Government Research Laboratory  

It has been operating since 2012. From the day of its creation, the activity of the laboratory was carried out in the direction of researching the problems of local self-government, which is very relevant and important in the modern situation. The main task of the laboratory is to study and analyze the problems of local self-government using scientifically analyzed and modern research methods, and to develop recommendations for solving these problems, as well as to equip future civil servants with appropriate knowledge.

     All three levels of public administration educational program students, masters, and doctoral students are involved in the research. Publications, course, bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses on topical issues of local self-government have been prepared and are being prepared. Every year, projects are implemented, which are aimed at establishing and deepening civic self-awareness and national-patriotic spirit among high school students.

Materials prepared by the laboratory are systematically sent to the Parliament and Government of Georgia in the form of proposals and recommendations. Involved in the activities of the laboratory, students with high academic performance undergo practice and internships in the Parliament and government institutions of Georgia, as well as in local self-government bodies.
