The "Mining-Geological Technology Center" at the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Georgian Technical University is a scientific-research unit of the faculty and, in accordance with the regulations of the faculty, carries out educational, scientific and methodical activities, training of specialists. It petitions the Faculty of Mining and Geology, in case of existing needs, to carry out the works according to its regulations. 

If necessary, the center petitions the university to invite specialists from Georgia as well as from other countries and sign appropriate labor contracts with them.

The aim of the center's activity is to create a multifunctional platform of "mining-geological technologies" at the mining-geological faculty of the university.

The main tasks of the center are: 

• Simultaneous teaching of computer programs for specialists working in mining and geology, geodesy-markscheidery, oil and gas technologies;
• providing study of existing computer programs in the field of mining and geology for professional, bachelor's, master's and doctoral level students;
• Support of research and scientific news in master's and doctoral theses with contemporary computer programs;
• Organization of mock studies and incentive projects;
• Technological support for the commercialization of faculty-wide research; 
• Support of research activities of university academic and other personnel with modern computer programs;
• Initiation and implementation of public lectures and training seminars by inviting leading specialists in the field;
• Technological support of grant projects;
• Support of student startup projects.
