Can a place be unreal? On what grounds? A space for playing can be thought of as an example. A place disengaged from the everyday. But a Vacation places, although detatched from the everyday also, do not belong to the paradigm as vacations (and entertainment) are quite a serious business: it serves the subject to regain energy for future work challenges.
Play is autotelic. Play is limited in space and time. Play creates a microcosm with its rules. Play detaches from the everyday. Every detachment (every boundary marker) implies the sacred. Thus the theme is not merely an unreal place, but a sacred place, a consecrated site.
As a specimen of the unreal places a theater stage is considered. How does architecture appear on the stage? What is the function of objects there? What happens to architecture in the theater?
