Theme: A house for a farmer

Course project, year IV, 2014.

Nature Scenario: The man lives on earth. The scenario transcribed into language of culture: Earth = Surface. Man = Furniture.

How can the most famous mathematical object - the Mobius surface be translated into architectural terms? The house is bare furniture on the surface; the furniture marks various functional zones. The object remains in an equivocal and uncertain state: on one hand, it obeys conventional architectural projection techniques: the result is a series of projected fragments of the Mobius surface positioned in a grid-like arrangement. The second reading of the object suggests the presence of several structures shaped as Mobius surfaces next to each other and placed under a glass box. The dweller of the house requests bedroom, or kitchen or study room and The Surface starts revolving, bringing the designated part of the surface near the ground and accessible. But which of these two readings is realized as a project? The Object remains silent. Architecture is presented in its conceptual form and it remains up to the reader to imagine the farmhouse as a complete object.
