On the basis of the Resolution N1987 of the Academic Board of the Georgian Technical University of May 16, 2016, three new faculties were created through the division of the Business Engineering Faculty of GTU, including the Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences according to paragraph 2.2; In accordance with paragraph 3.1 of the same resolution, the educational programs at our faculty were distributed as follows:

• Mass communication - bachelor's, master's and doctoral;
• Journalism (Russian speaking) - bachelor's degree;
• Educational program of preparation in Georgian language.
• European studies - bachelor's, master's;
• Economics - bachelor's, master's and doctoral;
• Public relations - bachelor's, master's;
• Archeology - bachelor's, master's and doctoral;
• Training and research center cluster.

Later, structural units of the faculty - academic departments were staffed according to the program; Later, the doctoral program of "social sciences" was handed over to the faculty, and accordingly, a new structural unit appeared in the structure of the faculty in the form of the academic department of social sciences.

Currently, the above-mentioned educational programs are successfully implemented with the involvement of relevant departments, the tradition of which dates back to the 90s of the last century.
