Summary
Proportional-integral-differential controllers are widely used in many projects. Biomedical engineering is no exception. PID controllers are found in radiation therapy machines, magnetic resonance imaging machines, computed tomography machines, angiographs, etc.
The students created a control system based on Arduino, which uses PID-controllers to automatically control the ball and give it the desired position and movement trajectory. The touch screen detects the position of the ball and sends a signal to the processor. The processor analyzes the position of the ball at a given moment, in the past time and predicts the future position, thus achieving maximum stability and minimizing error.
The project will be used in the future as laboratory teaching material in the course "Management Theory" and "Management in Medical Systems".
