Assignement: A space for prayers

Undergraduate course project, Year IV, 2018.

Theme 1: Some lines suggest religiosity - for example a silhouette of a basilica. Can these lines be reinterpreted without copying the known typology of a sacred building? The design reinterprets the canonical lines into immaterial substance - light. The perforated wall lets the sunlight into dim interior creating ambient sense of place. Sunbeam is implemented as an architectural element.

Theme 2: The design refers to one of the themes of the poetics of architecture: "Circular space". A circular space requires minimum parameters. The designer is left with only a diameter and height of the enclosing wall. He has find a way to articulate the design using only two parameters to acheive expressiveness.
