ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY (ICM)

Funded by the European Union (EU), Erasmus+ ICM is a new action and provides short term student and staff mobility between European and Partner Countries on the basis of inter-institutional agreements within an Erasmus Charter.

Since 2015 Georgian Technical University (GTU) participates in Erasmus+ ICM (KA107 Mobility Projects).

The students and staff members that are selected by GTU for Erasmus+ ICM exchange are entitled to the Erasmus scholarship (grant + travel grant).

Grant support for student mobility per month (1 semester i.e. 5 months):

Travel grants for each participant are defined according to the distance between partners:
  • between 100 - 499 kilometers: 180 EUR/mobility
  • between 500 - 1999 kilometers: 275 EUR/ mobility
  • between 2000 - 2999 kilometers: 360 EUR/ mobility
  • between 3000 -3999 kilometers: 530 EUR/ mobility
  • between 4000 - 7999 kilometers: 820 EUR/ mobility
  • more than 8000 kilometers: 1100 EUR/ mobility

Students Mobility

Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) students’ mobility provides opportunities for students to spend study periods at a partner HEI abroad and supports students in acquiring the skills (knowledge, qualities and attitudes) in order to enhance their personal development and their employability.

Students may undertake up to 5 - 10 months’ mobility (i.e. 5 - 10 months during their bachelor degree, 5 - 10 months during their master’s degree etc). 

Requirements 

Applicants must be registered at GTU as full-degree students at the time of application. They must also be able to continue studies at the same level (undergraduate, masters, PhD) at GTU the following year, i.e. the year of the exchange. 

Please note that:
Students can participate in the Erasmus program during their studies at the same level (undergraduate students can participate in the program during their undergraduate studies, master's students - during their master's studies, PhD students - during their PhD studies).

Applicant must not be on an Erasmus exchange for more than a total of 12 months per study cycle (Bachelor’s, Master’s and research studies are counted separately), including the time period applied for in this application.

The applicants who have done a mobility during in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus or Erasmus+ mobility programmes will have less priority than the rest of applicants, since the start of the selection procedure.

Learning Agreement

All students that participate in the Erasmus+ ICM need to use the Learning Agreement (LA). After selection of students, the learning agreements are signed by students and both HEIs.

  • Recently obtained Diploma and Diploma supplement (if applicable)
  • Research plan (only for PhD applicants)
  • Acceptance letter by the counterpart at host university accepting the porposed work plan included in the provisional mobility agreement (e-mail letter is acceptable) (only for PhD applicants)
Academic / Administrative Staff Mobility

Through Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) staff mobility enables staff from higher education institutions (HEI), such as Georgian Technical University, to spend time abroad with partner universities for training and teaching assignments and to improve the skills and competencies of teaching and administrative staff in order to support their professional development. Staff mobility can be undertaken by GTU academic (for teaching) and administrative (for training) staff. 

Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) mobility for teaching provides opportunities for academic staff to spend time teaching at a partner HEI abroad. 

Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) mobility for training provides opportunities for administrative staff to take training courses abroad. Training periods abroad can consist of job shadowing, observation periods or specific training courses.

Requirements
  • Applicant must be employed by GTU, both at the time of applying and at the time of mobility
  • Applicant must have the approval of GTU and host university for the work plan included  in the provisional Mobility Agreement for Teaching (for academic staff) or Mobility Agreement for Training (for administrative staff)
  • Applicant must have a good level in the language in which the work plan at host university is to be carried out
