He was the first rector of Georgian Technical University. David Kandelaki was one of the foundations of GTU and he was elected as rector in 1928.He died in 1937.
In 1930 G.Gvarjaladze was elected as rector of Caucasus Energetical Institute by result of reorganization in Georgian Polytechnic Institute.Then he had been rector of Georgian Industrial Institute for a year. He died in 1937.
He was elected as a rector of Georgian Industrial Institute from 1937 to 1949.In 1956 he continued his scientific-pedagogical work in Georgian Politechnical Institute.He died in 1957. He was a rector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute from 1948 to 1952.In 1930-1988 he worked successfully at State University and at Georgian Politechnical Institute. He died in 1991. In 1953 he was elected as a rector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute. In 1956 on basis of his private declaration and left his post. In 1974-1977 he had been reading lectures at various European Institutes and in Scientific Centres.He died in 2002. In 1996 he was elected as a rector of Georgian Politechnical Institute and worked at this post till 1958.Then he was elected as a vice-president of Georgian Scientific Academy till 1972.He died in 1985.
In 1958-1973 he was a rector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute. In 1961 he was elected as a member-correspondent of Georgian Scientific Academy. From 1973 to 1990 he was a director of Hydro-geological and Engineering-geological sectors.
He was a rector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute from 1973 to 1981.In this period were built VI,VII,VIII and IX corps,was founded new chairs, faculties and importantly increased number of students. He died in 1997.
In 1971-1980 he was a prorector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute in the field of scientific working. From 1981 to 1988 he was elected as a rector. In this period attention was oriented on organization of studying process. He died in 2000.In 1988 he was elected as a rector of Georgian Polytechnic Institute and worked on this post till 1994.Chair of Manage of Automatization Systems was founded by him. In 2001 he awarded the medal of G.Nikoladze.
