According to the Resolution # 1987 of the Georgian Technical University on May 16, 2016, the Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences was established;

17 educational programs are implemented at the faculty at all three levels of education (bachelor's, master's, doctoral); as well as the Georgian language training program; Academic departments of "Georgian Philology and Media Technologies", "Archeology and History of Georgia", "Engineering Economy", "Public Relations", "Social Sciences", "Foreign Languages", "Teaching and Scientific Center of Theology", "Educational and Scientific-Research Institute", "Georgianology University Training-Scientific Research Center", "Translation Center", "Archaeology Training-Research Laboratory", "Laboratory of Economic Process Modeling", "Laboratory of Media Technologies" and TV Center "GTU Net TV";

The latest goal and primary task of the newly created faculty is to create a high-quality, modern standards-compliant learning and research environment for students and to establish a competitive place in the educational space of Georgia;
